Beekeeping
A colony of bees is neither a pet nor a machine. It is a creature of its own made of tens of thousands – and once you start watching, you tend to lose track of time.
How it started
It all started with curiosity and just a few bee colonies. What stayed is the fascination for a living thing that, as a whole, makes decisions no individual bee could ever oversee.
My colonies are surrounded by nature.
The rhythm of the seasons guides the work of the beekeeper.
From spring through winter, there is always something to do in beekeeping. Even during the cold winter months, the work does not stop. While the bees are overwintering in their colonies, equipment and materials are already being prepared for the coming season.
